House brights

Well hello there. Long time no blog. Apologies for the radio silence, I've been on my holidays and haven't had a laptop within clicking distance!

So, back back back and I've been searching for house bits and bobs again - I exchanged contracts last week so I'm all exciting about houses and moving and home-wares and crap again hehe. With all that jazz in mind I've cobbled together a nice collection of bright, brights that would fill your house with colourful joy...

Where does all this nice stuff come from... well here silly...

1.  John Lewis Cafe Chair - £99 each
2.  Bodum Ice Coffee Maker 51 oz Purple - £40
3.  DCi Products Cut the Cheese Knives Set
4.  LSA Hula Rocking Glass Tumblers x 4 - £18.50

6.  Joseph Joseph Elevate  Utensils – From £8.50
7.  ‘That’s all Folks’ Bookend - £18.95

Biscuiteers

You all know how I love a good pimpin' post, well consider this my ultimate pimpin' post. Once you've found out about this website, gifts will never be the same again... *ahem* introducing - Biscuiteers.

I always have something to celebrate - I have a fantastic family and gorgeous group of friends, they're all amazing people. Because I've made a point of keeping only those close to me that are truly terrific I feel that they all deserve a treat every now and then, just to say 'hey you know what, you're pretty great'. I used to send flowers or retro sweets... but now... now I have a new favourite gift - BISCUITS!

Now I know what you're thinking... biscuits, like tea and biscuits!? Booor-ing... but no my friends they're not just biscuits, they're AMAZING BISCUITS!

Check out these bad boys...

1.   Cooks Tin - £37.50
2.   Sewing Kit Tin - £38.50
3.   Tea for Two Tin - £37.50

Ahhhh they're so lovely. I know you might be looking at the price and thinking 'cowabunga' that's a bit pricey, but you really are getting a lot for your money - 16 nommy biscuits (in the bigger tins), painstakingly decorated to within an inch of their lives and with literally 100s of themes and options you can get a gift for any occasion. Also I've mainly highlighted the more expensive tins but they do fab little 'biscuit cards' as well which are a bargain and the perfect way to say a quick thanks, but in a fun and different way. But I've still not mentioned the best bit... they are bloody tasty. I've brought about 4 different batches for people now and everyone has said the exact same thing 'these are the best biscuits I have ever eaten' - boom-babah! :)

Really when you think about it they're no more expensive than a bunch of flowers and remember, flowers die man, whereas you may shove all these biscuits in your face within a day, but the gorgeous tin that they come in will last forever!

So there we go, stuck for an idea for a mates birthday, want to say congrats to someone that's just aced their exams, want to feed up a friend who's just popped out a baby... go forth... become a Biscuiteer!

Also please tell me if you do happen to order any, I'd be interested to know what you think! :)

The things i love

Woo, the weekend is so close I can nearly touch it!

My other half is disappearing on his charity cycling mission this weekend so I've been plotting my plans. I'm on a drunken night out tomorrow, followed by a drunken night in on Saturday with dodgy 80's movies and pizza, then Sunday consists of a trip to the cinema to see The Inbetweeners Movie, then probably RIBS! To say I am excited would be a MASSIVE understatement! :D

Sooo yeah. While on the subject of nice things and stuff I like, I figured I'd do another doodle post as they seem to  be going down well. :)

This is basically a list of things that I love - quite a few will be obvious as I've mentioned them on here many times before e.g. my love of nautical stuff, but there might be some newbies in there that you didn't know about...

Yay, my favourite, favourites are probably my husband (who I lovingly refer to as The Viking) and my parents dogs, Frank and Lottie - they really are top dogs (hehe did you see what I did there).

Hurrah for lovely things.

What are your favourite things in the whole wide world, tell me, tell me.

Pie bird press

Soooo... it's Monday and I'm pimpin'... what am I pimpin' I hear you cry? Read on people, read on...

I was Googling around and found this brilliant little website called Pie Bird Press. Basically they make gorgeous cards, notebooks and other lovely bits and bobs all through the power of an antique letterpress - oh yes. Their cards have a beautiful vintage feel about them and I quote from the website 'our mission is to spread a feeling of nostalgia and cheer to everyone who receives our cards'... now that's the sort of mission statement I can get behind! :)

I've cobbled together a little collection of my favourite card designs, check it out...

Awww I really do love the rubber duck and the chattering teeth, they're just really cute pictures.

If you get a chance, really do have a look at the Pie Bird Press website, or have a butchers at their shop on Felt & Wire.

Retro home

What a start to my weekend - a massive snooze in bed, enough toast to sink a battleship, still in my pjs and full control of the remote... Scuzz music channel, Rage Against the Machine... yes please.

Apologies for being a tad quiet this week with my posts, given all the stupidity that has been going on in London and up and down the country, I haven't really felt in a good enough mood to say anything, also I fear that if I did post it would have been a massive ranting mess so I figured best to just leave things until everything calmed down a bit.

I hope you're all well and to anyone reading this in the UK I hope all your friends and family are safe and weren't caught up in the riots.

So, to nice things.

I have been back on the home-wares search recently as it's getting closer to the completion date for my house, so I figure it's a good time for me to start stock-piling precious things... any excuse to shop! Haha

Here are a few of my favourite finds which all have a bit of a retro feel, with a modern twist...

Ooooh I love that Fight Club poster and will certainly be picking it up for my new house, along with the new Orla Kiely Evoke Radio... it's just too bloomin' cute not to buy it! :)

1.  Orla Kiely EVOKE Mia Radio - £150
2.  I Love Retro Fight Club  Art Print - £24.95
3.  Made Odin x 2 Chairs - £99
4.  LSA Lucie Wine Glass Range - £10.50
5.  Wild & Wolf Cream Princess Telephone - £37.95
6.  Cotswold Wall Clock, Aqua - £40
7.  Diptyque Scented Candles - £38

I hope you all have super weekends whatever you get up to!

In my handbag...

Wha... where did the weekend go!? Oh well hopefully this week will speed along nicely... wishful thinking much! Haha

My post for today is inspired by a few blogs that I've read recently. Quite a few lovely girlies I follow have been posting about the magical collection of STUFF that they lug around with them on a daily basis in their handbags. I figured I could join in on this and post about what I carry around, but I wanted to do it in a bit of a different way. Instead of posting photos of my bits and bobs scattered on the floor I decided to do what I do best and doodle like the mad thing that I am.

Here you will find, neatly compiled a list of the things that are in my bag...

1.   Lulu Guinness Large Romilly Handbag (I bloody love my handbag)
2.   Misc receipts and shreds of paper (I seem to grow these in my bag, I can't help it)
3.   House keys (you can never find them when you need them)
4.   Hairbrush (I always need this, my hair goes mental so easily)
5.   Travel card (can't get around London without it babah)
6.   Kindle (I'm properly converted to using it... I still love real books though)
7.   iPhone (I'm bloomin' always texting or listening to AC/DC on the move)
8.   Pen for instant doodling (you never know)
9.   Marc Jacobs mouse shoes (a girl always needs a spare pair of flats)
10. Marc Jacobs wallet (it's dying now, I really need a replacement, but I love it so much)
11. Polos (they always gather in the bottom of my bag... along with fluff)
12. Marc Jacobs heart mirror (it's so cute)
13. Umbrella (I live in London... nuff said)
14. Soap & Glory hand cream (the best hand cream EVER)
15. Nivea tinted lipsalve (you can never have enough lipsalve)

Ah I really do carry around a lot of stuff...

Do you lug around a lot in yours? What's the one item you couldn't live without in your bag?

Jaeger aw11

Wow, what a weekend. My Friday basically involved drinking quite a large amount of pear cider, handing out many flyers to many people at Liverpool Street and running around with a bucket collecting money for Help for Heroes - drunken antics aside, we managed to raise over £450 which was pretty darn good I think you'll agree!

My Saturday was a very different type of day, it started with a hangover (as most of my Saturday's seem to) and a very early trip to Waterloo to meet my mum and sister. We went to the National Portrait Gallery to see the Glamour of the Gods Hollywood Portraits exhibition. It was a great exhibition and a perfect opportunity to see some fantastic photographs of some true stars e.g Marlon Brando, Cary Grant, Clark Gable, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly and James Dean. If you enjoy beautiful people and beautiful photography I would highly recommend going along, it's on until the 23 October 2011.

So, to my post. I've been nosing around on Jaeger's website, which is one of my favourite things to do, and have been really enjoying their AW11 collection. As you know I have a bit of a soft spot for navy and I am very happy to report that it's going to be a big thing this Autumn - this makes me a very happy bunny.

Here are a few of my favourite pieces... don't look at the prices, just love them:

2. Suede Shorts - £299

Right, so I need to get to saving, I hope you have a great Sunday! :)

Interview time

Hazah, it's so nearly Friday I can touch it. We had a 4 hour power cut at work today so I spent way too long sitting around drinking far too much coffee and twitching - gah!

Anyhoo, I thought I'd better mention this lovely lady...

I was very kindly asked if I wouldn't mind taking part in an interview about my blog - just a couple of questions about me and what I do. If you get a chance please check it out, and while you're at it, marvel at the glory of Fashion Infactuation, it's a bloomin' brilliant blog, bursting with fashionable goodies... trust me, I'm a doctor*

TTFN precious people.

*Might be a lie, but trust me anyways mmmk.

Kiss me zombie

Oooh middle of the week, can't wait until Friday for fun times! My hubby is having a charity fundraiser to raise some money for Help for Heroes as he's about to embark on a 450 mile cycling trip to Scotland. He's going to be cycling to the three peaks and then, as if that's not mad enough, he's going to climb each of the bastards - oh yes, he really is that mental! You might be thinking, are you doing this with him? Hahahaha nooooooo! I am far too lazy for that, also I've already made plans to get well and truly slippered while he's away, so that'll be fun! :)

So, to my post for today - it's a little bit of pimpage for Kiss Me Zombie.

Kiss Me Zombie have an amazing collection of vintage and shiny new kitsch jewellery, I can't help but visit their website and mentally buy out the entire online shop. The best thing about their jewellery, only a few of each item are made so you know that what you're getting is a truly limited edition piece of eclectic joy. Their prices are incredibly reasonable and they ship really quickly too!

Check out some of my favourite bits and bobs they have on offer:

Ooooh it's all so pretty. I especially love the 8 ball necklace, it's bursting with kitschy loveliness!

So there we go, if you've got a few mins spare, check out their website and charge yourself something pretty or buy a fab gift for someone special.

London, innit

I can't believe that it's August already, it's just insane that this year is whizzing by with reckless abandonment - cripes, it'll be moving in day before I know it (ever the optimist).

I'm been in a bit of an arty pants mood this evening so have cobbled together a post of London-based joy. I decided to draw a few things which make London such a tourist HOTSPOT and the city that I love and live in.

This post was mainly inspired by my lunch time today which was spent sitting on the steps of St Pauls Cathedral yamming a sandwich in my face. I really am a very lucky devil to work around the corner from one of the most beautiful buildings in the country. You'll notice it's not in my list below, that's mainly because I couldn't begin to do it doodle-justice... but I hope you like the rest of my pics... London, innit.

One day I'll use PowerPoint for it's real purpose rather than my personal doodle software bitch. :D
